Natalya Gennadi

Voice, Piano

Ukrainian-Canadian soprano Natalya Gennadi brings storytelling to life through music, combining classical vocal technique, stagecraft, and a deeply holistic teaching philosophy. Her acclaimed debut as Oksana G with Tapestry Opera earned her a Dora Mavor Award nomination, and her career highlights include roles in Médée, Die Walküre, and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, along with modern recitals spotlighting Ukrainian and Canadian music.

Believing that “we are our instruments, not only from the neck up,” Natalya tailors every lesson to the unique voice of each student, fostering artistic freedom grounded in technique. As a creator and producer, she conceives multimedia projects like Grandma’s Shaw—an innovative exploration of Ukrainian and Indigenous cultural connections—where she leads in producing, designing sound, video, and costume elements.

Beyond the stage and studio, Natalya is a devoted sewer, bringing her craftsman’s precision and creativity into all facets of her artistic life.
