Piano

Michael Zuzek is a passionate musician, songwriter, and educator with a deep love for sharing music and building community through creativity. A graduate of Queen’s University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Minor in Music, Michael brings a unique blend of scientific discipline and artistic sensitivity to his teaching.

With over 17 years of piano experience and three years as a professional performer, Michael has developed a performance repertoire grounded in musical accuracy and heartfelt expression. His deep respect for original compositions drives him to learn each piece note-for-note, honoring the artist's original intent while developing his own voice as a songwriter. In 2024, his debut single reached #119 on the UK iTunes Pop chart, followed by a second single hitting #19 on the UK iTunes Rock chart. His debut album has already surpassed 100,000 streams, and he has been nominated for both Independent Music Network’s Songwriter of the Year and Favorite Male Artist.

As a first-year music teacher, Michael’s approach is rooted in empathy and inspiration. Having once struggled to enjoy piano lessons himself, he now focuses on helping students love the process of learning—adapting lessons to each student's unique strengths and personality. His goal is to help students gain confidence not just in their musical skills, but in themselves.

Outside the studio, Michael is equally at home on his family’s cherry farm—where he works most weekends—as he is on a stage or at a live show. He also runs a weekly basketball league with longtime friends and cherishes spending time with his large extended family. A proud Croatian and Slovenian, Michael finds joy in celebrating his European heritage and building lasting connections through music, culture, and community.
