
Caitlyn Liu
Cello
Caitlyn Liu holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Victoria and is currently completing her Master of Music in Performance at the University of Toronto (expected April 2026). She has been teaching for six years and studying and performing music for over 18 years, beginning at the age of six.
Caitlyn is passionate about helping students discover their unique creativity and musical voice through the cello. Her teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations while creating a supportive environment where students feel confident expressing themselves musically.
As a performer, Caitlyn specializes in chamber music, including sonatas and string quartets. She has collaborated with orchestras in British Columbia and China and most recently performed Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra in 2025.
Originally from Northeast China, Caitlyn moved to Canada in 2017 and enjoys exploring the connection between Eastern and Western musical traditions through music.
